Community Nursing
Geriatric nurses conduct monthly visits to older residents, and provide counseling and referral services.
Home Visitation
Nurses assist with medication and catheters, give baths, and provide dressing changes and other such care, to older residents in their homes.
Gerontology Clinic
There are two clinics that cater specifically to older adults. They are located at the Fleming Street and Anne’s Town Community Health Clinics, on Friday afternoons and Thursday mornings, respectfully. A full complement of healthcare professionals and Social Services staff are on hand to meet your needs.
Resources
Items such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches and hospital beds are made available to older residents. In some cases a small fee is charged. However, the Ministry is able to negotiate payment plans.
