NASSAU, The Bahamas -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation the Hon. Chester Cooper announced the launch of the Downtown Mural Project & the Family Island Icon Project, September 4, 2024 at a press conference at the Centre of E-Commerce, No. 1 Bay Street.
The Ministry of Tourism, Investments and Aviation's executive team announced that the artists commissioned to create their proposed murals in Downtown Nassau are: Randia Coakley, Angelika Wallace-Whitfield, Rasheed Demeritte, Jerreth Albury, and Durelle Williams.
And in collaboration with Ambassador for Cultural Affairs, 'Celebrity Artist' H.E. Jamaal Rolle -- the ministry will launch the Family Island Icon Project in which the distinct character of each island will be captured as iconic artistic signage (and other media), giving recognition to the interesting aspects of each, and the varied lure of the archipelago.
