Legislative Drafting Section
The Legislative Drafting Section falls under the Department of Legal Affairs and is headed by the Director of Legal Affairs. The Section comprises four counsel and attorneys-at-law who perform as Legal Draftsmen.
The Legislative Drafting Section is primarily responsible for -
- drafting principal legislation for Parliament;
- drafting subsidiary legislation for Ministers of Government;
- drafting opinions on the interpretation of laws for the various Government Ministries and other public bodies.
