This clinic is held weekly at the South Beach Community Health Clinic from 9am – 3pm. Referrals are made to the clinic by the School Nurses, School Guidance Counselors, and Teachers.

Objectives

  1. To determine the total referrals to hospital:
    • X-ray.
    • Eye.
    • Specialty clinic.
    • Outpatients.
    • E.N.T.
    • Others- example:
      • School psychologist.
      • Gynaecology.
      • Obstetrics.
      • Psychiatric social worker.
      • Dietician.
  2. To document special conditions that may affect health and well-being:
    • Teenage pregnancy.
    • Drug abuse.
    • Sexual abuse.

Eligibility 

Any school child is eligible.

Process 
  1. Student participates in the medical examination.
  2. Student is referred to Children’s clinic.
  3. Parents call clinic to request appointment.
  4. Parent and child show up and participate in examination.
  5. Follow recommendations given.
