The Bahamas Film and Television Commission provides support and facilitation to production service representatives in and out of The Bahamas, who have film, television and other production projects, which can be executed in The Bahamas. These productions would usually portray the country in a positive manner, thus supporting the advertising and promotions initiatives of the Ministry of Tourism and Aviation.

This service would be of interest to directors, producers, cinematographers, animators and still photographers who are engaged in the production of films, television movies/shows, documentaries, music videos, photo shoots and underwater photography.


Eligibility 

Film directors and producers who are interested in undertaking film and television production in The Bahamas.

Supporting Documents 
  1. A letter of intent introducing company and outlining the nature of a project, including script and /or storyboard if applicable.
  2. Types of locations required.
  3. A list of cast and crew members, nationalities and flight information.
  4. A list of photographic equipment, props and wardrobe items, including their U.S. dollar value (for approvals and duty waivers).
  5. A list of required production personnel and talent.
  6. An estimated overall budget, with some indication as to the amount to be spent in The Islands of The Bahamas.
  7. Proposed airing/release of your production, including its venue.
  8. Special requirements, that is, traffic control, helicopter permits or casino locations.
  9. As much detail as possible, where film and production activities will impact the local environment.  

Please also indicate which of the following can be provided:

  • a testimonial of film shooting experience in The Bahamas - a Film Commission representative would contact you for this.
  • a copy of the final product of this production to The Bahamas Film Commission.
  • allowing the Film Commission to use the images that you send on material that promotes shooting in The Bahamas.
  • allowing the Film Commission to come to your set and shoot behind the scenes pictures and/or footage of your production.
  • B roll footage of this production to The Islands of The Bahamas to use in our video archives.  

 

Turn-around time 
One to two days depending on accuracy and completeness of submission.
Deadline 
Applicants must submit an application and supporting documents at least seven days prior to your arrival in the Islands of The Bahamas.
