The Youth Leader Awards are given to the most outstanding nominees who have gone above and beyond service and aided in the development of youth for more than 10 years.  The committee will select the recipients of these awards.  The nominees from both Abaco and Grand Bahama will be decided on by those islands.  Nominations for all other islands and New Providence will be decided upon by a separate committee organised by the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture.  These awards are bestowed by the government on an annual basis.  All nominees must be submitted to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, Department of Youth for consideration.

The nominees from both Abaco and Grand Bahama will be decided on by those islands.


Eligibility 

Any Bahamian person who has aided in the development of youth for more than 10 years.

Process 
  1. The Department of Youth will send out nomination forms to organisations in August of the current year.
  2. The organisation may submit only one nominee for the National Youth Recognition Awards to the Department of Youth.  
  3. Family Island organisations may collect forms from the Family Island administrator/Island coordinator.  
  4. The organisation must ensure the nominee meet the criteria outlined in the guidelines governing the nomination of candidates for the National Youth Recognition Awards.
  5. Once nominations are submitted, the Department of Youth will verify the information that was submitted.  
  6. Family Island organisations may submit nominee via the Family Island Administrator/Island coordinator.  
  7. Once final determination has been made the Department of Youth will inform the organisation in writing.
  8. Nominees are informed of their selection by September of the current year.
