In The Bahamas, persons must first register with the Health Professions Council before they can work in the following fields:
- Acupuncture Therapy.
- Audiology and Speech Language Pathology.
- Chiropody and Podiatry.
- Chiropractic.
- Clinical Psychology.
- Dietetics.
- Emergency Services Technology.
- Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Occupational Therapy.
- Optometry and Opticianary.
- Pharmacists and Pharmacy Testing.
- Physiotherapy and Respiratory Therapy.
- Radiography.
Please note that once registered, the licence should be displayed prominently in the professional’s place of business.
Anyone who is qualified as a health professional is eligible.
- Complete registration form.
- Attach all of the supporting documents. These must be originals or notarised copies.
- Submit to the Health Professions Council.

- Birth certificate.
- Police certificate.
- Health certificate (completed by a physician).
- Recent passport-sized photograph.
- Completed Posts Held form.
- Completed Authorisation form (release of information).
- Academic certificates.
- Current Registration Certificate, where applicable (notarised copy).
- Employment Sponsorship letter (non-Bahamians only).
- Copy of current Work Permit or Permanent Resident Certificate (non-Bahamians only).
- Bahamian Passport (as proof of Bahamian citizenship).
- Three written references – two professional and one character.
