The Youth Leaders Professional Development Programme was designed to continue building on the training received during the Youth Leader Certificate Programme.  The programme has the following objectives:

  1. Train, expose and sharpen the skills of present youth leaders in techniques and methods in your work.
  2. Provide training in leadership skills
  3. Assist youth leaders and youth workers in developing competencies necessary to effectively manage young people
  4. Formulate basic concepts regarding the role of youth organisations.

This course is designed to cover a ten week period, comprising nine sessions, and a field study.   Interested individuals may apply to the Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture, Department of Youth to participate in the Certificate Programme.


Eligibility 

Participants must be at least 18 years of age.

Process 
  1. Forms may be collected at the Department of Youth or downloaded by clicking the link below.
  2. The applicant must fill out and submit the application form, along with supporting documents, to the Department of Youth.  
  3. The Department of Youth will then acknowledge receipt of the application for a Youth Leaders Certification programme by phone or in writing.
  4. The Department of Youth then inform applicant of the orientation date and the start date of the programme.
  5. At the successful completion of the Youth Leaders Certification programme participants received a certificate of completion.

  • A letter of recommendation from your organisation must accompany the application
Turn-around time 
Applications are processed within two to five days
Deadline 
Applications must be submitted one week prior to the beginning of the programme. Please refer to the application form for final details regarding programme deadlines.
Related Fee(s) 

There is a non-refundable registration fee of BS$25.
