Minister of Energy and Transport, the Hon. JoBeth Coleby-Davis announced new, nation-wide energy reforms at the Office of the Prime Minister, June 10, 2024.

Minister Coleby-Davis relayed that the specific reforms included, in summary:
Building of utility-scale solar power in the Family Islands
Expansion of solar projects on New Providence
Modernization of the Electricity Grid and Transmission and Distribution Network for New Providence, through a partnership between BPL and Island Grid
Transforming Energy Generation through LNGImplementation in New Providence
Equity Rate Adjustment
